Forever Ratings & Reviews
- Billy Zane2 maja 2025Forever is one of those shows that really should’ve lasted longer. It’s super entertaining, really well-acted, and has a cool, original vibe you don’t see often. Ioan Gruffudd is great as Dr. Henry Morgan, a guy who can’t die (kind of like Highlander, but with a modern twist and a bit of sci-fi mixed in). The stories are clever, the characters are likable, and it’s just a fun show to get into. Honestly, it’s a shame it only got one season - it definitely deserved more.
- Gary Lewis7 września 2025Best show on television in 2014 and ABC cancel it. They keep the bad stuff on the air and they canceled the good stuff. I will never understand that highly recommend this show and as an honorable place in life video library.
- Matt Kelly25 lutego 2026If you’re looking for a show that combines the wit of Sherlock with the soul of a classic romantic drama, Forever (2014) is a masterclass in "gone too soon" television. It’s the ultimate "detective with a secret" show, and it’s genuinely heartbreaking that we only got one season of it. Here is why this cult favorite is still worth your time a decade later: The Premise: Immortality is a Curse Dr. Henry Morgan (played with effortless charm by Ioan Gruffudd) is a star medical examiner in New York City. He has a secret: he’s 200 years old. Every time he dies, he disappears and reappears in the nearest body of water, perfectly intact and completely naked. He’s spent two centuries studying death to understand his own life, making him the most observant investigator on the NYPD’s payroll. Why It’s "Awesome" The Chemistry: The "Will they/Won't they" dynamic between the buttoned-up Henry and Detective Jo Martinez (Alana de la Garza) is grounded and respectful. They have a deep, intellectual connection that feels earned, not forced. The Heart (Abe): The emotional anchor of the show is Henry’s relationship with Abe (Judd Hirsch), a sharp-tongued antique dealer who is actually Henry’s grown son (whom he and his late wife adopted during WWII). Watching an immortal man care for his aging "son" provides some of the most moving scenes in TV history. The History: Each episode uses flashbacks to Henry’s past—from 19th-century London to 1940s New York—to solve modern-day crimes. It’s a brilliant way to explore how human nature never really changes. The Mystery: There’s an overarching "Moriarty" figure—an anonymous caller named "Adam" who claims to be even older than Henry—adding a high-stakes psychological thriller element to the weekly cases. The Verdict Forever is sophisticated, empathetic, and beautifully shot. It treats the viewer with intelligence and avoids the "gimmick of the week" trap by focusing on the heavy emotional toll of living forever while everyone you love fades away.
