Where to Watch Przylądek strachu
- Generally, more positive than negative, but if this had dragged on any longer I might not have made it to the end. A couple episodes are truly excellent. Production values are off the charts and Bardem is delicious as Max Cady. But, (and I absolutely hate saying this), but I thought Amy Adams was not good. I keep waiting for her to land a truly great role, but time keeps slipping away. Definitely watchable, but it’s not exactly must see television, in my opinion.
- The best thrillers don't simply keep the story moving. They convince you that every decision could have gone another way. Somewhere around the midpoint of Cape Fear, I realized I was no longer wondering what would happen next. I was wondering why anybody was behaving the way they were. That's a difficult problem for a thriller to overcome because suspense only works when you believe the people creating it. I also never became fully invested in its central couple. The series asks us to spend ten episodes worrying about two lawyers whose own corruption helped send an innocent man to prison, and I never felt it reckoned honestly enough with that reality to make me share its concern for them. There are enough intriguing ideas across the season to remind you why this story has endured for so long, and visually it's consistently striking. Javier Bardem brings an unpredictability that makes every appearance feel like a genuine threat. I just never felt the writing matched the talent it had assembled, and the cast wasn't able to bridge that gap. That disconnect only became more noticeable as the season went on. Characters repeatedly make choices that seem designed to reach the next twist rather than grow naturally from the situation they're in. Once that pattern emerges, it's difficult to stop noticing it. Bardem has flashes where you can see the performance this series wanted to build around, but even he struggles with dialogue that rarely sounds like real people under extraordinary pressure. Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson left me even less impressed than I'd expected from actors of their caliber, and no one ever quite grounds the increasingly contrived plotting. By the finale, Cape Fear had answered the questions it spent the season asking. But I didn't believe enough of the journey to care very much about the answers, and that ultimately made the series feel less of a gripping reinvention of a classic thriller and more like a missed opportunity.
- 2/10 Javier Bardem's performance is awesome, he is singlehandedly carrying the show. And the story is absolute horsesh1t with twists on every corner to keep you watching and in the end it just doesn't make any sense and the plot is convoluted and the actions and motivation of characters are unbelievable. It's not working as a drawn out tv-show, it should have remained a movie. Patrick Wilson should never act in anything besides the cheap Insidious and Conjuring horror movies. Amy Adams is just terrible and I'm counting the days to her retirement. Cannot recommend, except if you are studying acting and want to see how its done by Javier Bardem. He knew the show is horsesh1t and he still gave it 110%.
- A great series that I highly recommend—it’s a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The cast is perfect, with a special shout-out to Javier Bardem. The pace is fast-paced, and each episode makes us rethink what we thought we knew from the previous ones... Honestly, it’s really well put together.
- Couldn't make it to the end of episode 3. This show is so cliche and boring. Acting isn't well done. Storyline is cliche, absolutely nothing unique or new. If you're in a coma, you might fine something to enjoy about this show. I'm done, stopped 15 minutes to the end of E03. I'm going to go and have more fun watching grass grow.
