Tytułowa postać to kosmita z planety Melmack, który się rozbił i trafił do rodziny Tannerów. I tak oto zaczynają się kłopoty tej rodziny. W szczególności kota rodzinny, który do tej pory był bezpieczny a teraz uważać musi na Alfa, smakosza kotów. Serial jest przepełniony gagami i żartami wynikającymi z próby przystosowania się Alfa do życia na ziemi oraz rodzinny próbującej przystosować się do życia z tym sympatycznym futrzanym kosmitą.

A sarcastic alien who crash lands into a suburban garage and immediately starts eating cats and roasting humans. What’s not to love? ALF (Alien Life Form) is a walking puppet with attitude. He lives with the Tanner family, drops one liners like a stand-up comic and somehow makes existential alien loneliness hilarious. The show mixed slapstick, heart and weirdness. As a teen, I didn’t question the puppet logic, I just laughed. Willie Tanner’s constant stress, Lynn’s eye rolls and ALF’s obsession with TV and snacks made it feel like a sitcom from another planet.
