Say what you will about 2001, this film was just as revolutionary and technologically advanced as any film that had gone before. Including everything that ILM had created for Star Wars. Watch this again like it was the first time and try not to have your mind blown with "bullet time" and the 360 degree camera shots. Then remember that no one had EVER shot film like that before. Still incredible.

The atmosphere alone had me hooked from the start, and once it gets going it just keeps getting cooler and cooler. Crazy how a movie from 1999 still feels this fresh. The action, music, visuals, all of it still works so well, and some scenes honestly look better than modern sci-fi movies with ten times the budget. You can really feel how influential it was too. Absolute classic for a reason.
