Travolta is so disconnected from reality his mind is limitied to his world of hollywood weirdos and even then he is way off. Same for Durst. People hated him as a rock star and I'd say he is equally as hatable and useless as a director. The only appeal in watching this is the utter absurdity of it. 1/10
- tellum10 kwietnia 2025The only reason it’s not a half star is because Travolta’s acting is legitimately very good. The problem is his character is the human embodiment of cringe and he is far too convincing. I don’t want to presume what inspired Fred Durst to make this, I’ll just say no matter his intent it reflects poorly on him.

There's moments where Travolta's character is believable and other moments where his performance is laughable. There's some legitamately cool cinematic moments throughout as well as some plain stupid moments. I can't quite put my finger on what the point of the movie is supposed to be or what the goal was for the audience to feel, but The Fanatic left me feeling simultaneously sorry for a character that's just misunderstood as well as deeply disturbed by his behaviour. If that was the director's intention, I thought they did a good job.
