- jackmeat24 kwietnia 2025My quick rating - 6.7/10. Finally, a well-thought-out and original idea. A new drug has hit the streets, and people are turning up dead after using it. A couple of medics are first on the scene and begin to notice they all have one thing in common, Synchronic. But after one the the paramedic's daughters is affected by the designer drug, Anthony Mackie begins to notice a certain side effect that may be out of this world. Since he is going through his own issues, popping a pill to see isn't out of the realm of possibility for him, and he realizes it may actually open a door to another dimension. The mystery of the deaths and the drug may all be linked, and this movie does a very good job of keeping your attention to find out if they are. I liked the acting in this one as the interactions seemed pretty realistic in all ranges of emotion. The explanation of what is happening does get a bit muddled at times, but if you don't mind letting some inconsistencies go, I think you will enjoy it.

The writing is unbelievable and there is always something that pops up in his movies that you see in his other movies like the red flowers that were in "The Endless" and "Resolution". They all have a theme of time and the unknown and although I'm a Christian in faith, he experiments with different fantasy ideas about the afterlife and God. This one was really good.

Denis żyje w wymęczonym i wypalonym związku z żoną, która jest całkowicie pochłonięta opieką nad nowo narodzonym dzieckiem oraz trudnym dojrzewaniem osiemnastoletniej córki. Steve jest natomiast wiecznym singlem. Obu mężczyzn łączy nie tylko ciężka praca w nowoorleańskiej karetce, ale solidna męska przyjaźń. Podczas jednej ze zmian są oni świadkami serii nietypowych i niepokojących zgonów - natrafiają na rany zadane mieczem, zwęglone zwłoki czy ukąszenia węży. Początkowo trudno dostrzec jakiekolwiek powiązanie pomiędzy denatami. Z czasem jednak okazuje się, że za niecodziennymi wydarzeniami stoi nowy tajemniczy środek zwany Synchronic. Syntetyczny narkotyk nazywany także "fake ayahuasca" powoduje odjazd tak niepowtarzalny, że wycieczki przez zakrzywioną, porąbaną i pełną halucynacji rzeczywistość mogą zakończyć się dotkliwymi obrażeniami, a nawet zgonem w "prawdziwym" życiu. Bohaterowie zostają wciągnięci w tę niepokojącą sprawę znacznie głębiej niżby sobie tego życzyli.
