„Suzume” to opowieść o dojrzewaniu 17-letniej głównej bohaterki. Suzume musi zamknąć te portale, aby zapobiec dalszej katastrofie.

The animation, as expected, is phenomenal. I found the first half very entertaining with a quick pace. The second half comes to a screeching halt, and I didn't enjoy this section as much. Though I think Shinkai has been reusing certain tropes in his last few movies, I think this tackles a different theme, and the very ending does a good job of driving it all home. Because it tried to approach his focus on nature in a different way, I appreciate it as it serves as sort of a culmination of iterations of him trying to find the perfect messaging.

Emotional, Lyrical, and Visually Stunning "Suzume no Tojimari" is a beautiful and emotionally resonant animated film, one that blends fantasy, loss, and healing with remarkable sensitivity. It's a work that feels both intimate and epic, confirming once again the strength of Makoto Shinkai's voice as a filmmaker. Visually, the movie is breathtaking. The animation is rich in detail, with stunning backgrounds and fluid motion that elevate every scene. The use of color and light is extraordinary, turning everyday locations into places filled with quiet magic and emotional weight. The story is simple on the surface, but deeply meaningful beneath it. It deals with grief, memory, and resilience in a way that feels honest and gentle, never exploitative. The journey unfolds with a poetic rhythm, allowing emotions to build naturally and land with real impact. Music plays a crucial role, perfectly intertwined with the visuals and narrative. The score enhances the sense of wonder and melancholy, guiding the emotional flow of the film without overpowering it. "Suzume no Tojimari" is a touching and beautifully crafted experience - heartfelt, visually stunning, and emotionally sincere. It's one of those films that quietly stays with you.

Such beautiful animation with a story full of heart; now I gotta watch Your Name!

Phenomenal animation and a really intriguing story help elevate this movie over so many others these days. The voice acting is great and despite a bit of a slow-down in the second half, things generally move along pretty quickly. While this doesn't quite reach the level of "Your Name", it's another excellent movie from Makoto Shinkai, who has quickly become one of my favorite anime directors.

Emotional and satisfying. Makoto Shinkai's love song to the scenery of Japan.

Another example of damn good cinema by Makoto Shinkai. Breathtaking animation in concert with an engaging story set in his trademark backdrop of modern Japan, its unique culture, and the invisible distance that divides people.
