Where to Watch Oczy Węża
- Richard5 października 2025There’s something electric about watching a Brian De Palma thriller on the big screen. I remember sinking into that worn velvet seat, the lights dimming and the opening shot pulling me straight into the chaos of Atlantic City. Nicolas Cage was at full throttle, sweaty, sleazy, and magnetic. His performance filled the room like cigarette smoke in a casino lounge: overwhelming, intoxicating and impossible to ignore. Sure, the plot goes off the rails by the final act, but in that dark theater, it didn’t matter. It was about the ride.
- ርልዪረ17 czerwca 2026I love the awesome camera angles in the same take at different scenes within the movie throughout the boxing match. It feels so professional and some of the scenes are also tracking shots or long takes, but other cameras in the same scene are in close up later and with split screen editing. There's also this awesome camera angle panning as an overhead shot through apartment rooms in another sequence. The payoff of who the lead villian organizing the shootout in the audience is a little underwhelming and the ending credits linger on an outdoor location throughout for no need, but this is mostly so cool and gripping.
- Joe G8 marca 2026Not nearly as bad as its reputation suggests, or as bad as memory might lead you to believe. The story itself is fine: a fairly standard conspiracy built on corruption and shady dealings. Nothing remarkable, but functional. Nicolas Cage is, at times, too much. The dialogue can be difficult to stomach, and some of the acting drifts toward the theatrical. It’s not a great film. But the camera work alone makes it worth watching. Brian De Palma constantly shifts perspective, moving the camera and field of vision in ways that reveal multiple viewpoints of the same moment. The editing supports this approach with a meticulous attention to how scenes unfold and how information is revealed. It’s a technical exercise in staging and perspective. Without that, this movie would be completely worthless.
