Sam Raimi is back with Send Help to remind us all why he is the all time MVP of dark disgusting twisted f@cked up horror. This movie was nearly perfect. Rachel McAdams is amazing as the submissive nerdy "so we think" employee and Dylan O'Brien as well as the douchebag CEO who inherited everything from daddy and never worked a day in his life. Inevitably after not promoting her the two are the only survivors of a work related plane crash and wash up on a small island in the middle of the ocean. From here Linda who spends her spare time reading survivalist books and auditioning for... You guessed it Survivor is now in her element. She's now the boss and goes out of her way to demonstrate this to Bradley... Multiple times showing him why he needs her... But she's also got a more sinister motivation... As does he... One thing is clear... Both Linda and Bradley are flawed people. Welcome to a Sam Raimi movie.... We're not getting clear cut good vs evil characters. And as you can guess in true Raimi fashion the last hour gets really f@cked up... We get some trademark Evil Dead throwback action. Ultra violence, bodily fluids, laugh out loud moments and WTF moments. And you won't know what's what until the very end. The amount of satisfaction you get from the ending might depend on how depraved your mind is. That's why for me it's awesome. Send Help 9/10

Send Help is a funny movie. I honestly do not know where the so-called horror is hiding in this one, because it plays much more like a dark comedy thriller than anything truly scary. But that is fine, because the movie is entertaining. At first, it pulls you into what feels like the old underdog story: the overlooked person fighting against the world and proving she is more than just “the brain” in the room. You think you know where it is going. Then a couple of scenes start showing you that she is not just frustrated; she is mad at the whole world. And once all bets are off, the movie becomes much more fun. It is entertaining, very entertaining, and definitely worth watching. Also, yes, the boss is always a douche. Some things never change.

As campy as can be. Absolutely hilarious, with various sincere moments sprinkled in. Thoroughly enjoyed.

A classic told with a new twist. The alleged ugly duckling is smart, brave, and gorgeous. I genuinely laughed out loud at parts of this movie. I would have liked more horror elements.. But, still a good movie.

A lot better than I thought it might be, absolutely worth a watch. Although I truly wish they'd called it "Send Hepl" instead ;)

My honest thought is maybe more of a preference. People are comparing this story to "Misery". I think that's unfair to Misery which was a great movie. Personally I LOVED the idea. Rachel McAdams has aged like fine wine both in her beauty and acting skills. I just didn't want the comedic aspect. I wanted this one played straight. A few moments were kind of Naked Gun'ish. Let the anti-hero become the psycho who she is under pressure. Trying to make her funny softens her. The laughs just weren't strong enough to make this a really good movie.

Somewhere in the middle.... not bad, not great either, dont understand what the horror element is in this one though. The acting was good.

Send Help is really fun. Yes, it's fairly predictable and doesn't exactly end up going in crazy directions. However, within those parameters, it knows exactly what it is and juices every little drop of absurdity it can. The real draw is the acting. Both stars do a great job, but Rachel McAdams fully lets loose and is deliciously unhinged. I was also kind of surprised by the score by Danny Elfman. That's not something that usually stands out in movies like this, but I noticed it immediately from the start of the movie. I do think it becomes less of a standout as the movie progresses though. In general, Sam Raini elevates the production throughout. The visuals are sharper and more stylistic than you would expect, with certain CGI scenes having a lot more depth than typical. I really liked the way the montages were presented, seamlessly stitching scenes together. The editing does a fantastic job at framing key items, the various "Chekhov's Guns." In general, it's a really well made movie that maximizes what it can mine from this setup. I do think the pacing can get a bit slow at times, and the ending then becomes very sudden instead of feeling like a proper buildup and release. I also just think this movie was a bit too safe, and although it can get violent and gory, it never goes fully off the rails like I was hoping for. Regardless, it's an entertaining time where Sam Raini is constantly metaphorically and quite literally winking at the camera.

This was a great Sam Raimi movie. There are a bunch of fun little nods to his previous films, but it holds on its own really well. It was a bit predictable, but definitely still worth the watch.

At first, I thought this would be some sort of comedy. After the first gory scene, I looked and saw the director is Sam Raimi. Say no more, this is not a comedy! Very good film, but I must warn you, there is a fair amount of blood and gore. Held my interest until the end, I must say.

Largely trash. Decent concept, absurd execution. Not funny, not remotely scary. Pretty much every character is distractingly cartoonish in how over the top they behave.
