- Doc Worm17 czerwca 2026Punisher: Warzone obnoxiously defines the kind of action popular around around 2008. Freerunners, dub step, and some garish colorful, high contrast digital post production. This doesn't get in the way of it being a ton of fun. Ray Stevenson has a solid take on Frank Castle (if not a bit soapy), and Dominic West is a blast as Billy Russo, my favorite take on Jigsaw. Wayne Knight, however, is totally wasted. It was a shame as I was excited to get to see what he does as Micro. Pretty much all of the side characters are insufferable otherwise. Laughably bad writing. Definitely, some leaps in logic, a plot hole or two, and some questionable character motives. Forgivable, given how much fun it's goofy over the top wonton carnage is throughout. What sets warzone apart from other iterations is how it treats Punisher for what it is - a comic adaptation.

- levi c lund19 kwietnia 2026This film adapts the comic, but forgets the soul of the character. You get glimpses of it, but its never fleshed out. It feels heavily stylized with little payoff or substance. The writing often feels at odds with what the scenes are trying to make you feel. Shock gets played for humor instead. Things that work in the comics don't always translate to film. I think that about sums up what's wrong with this movie.

However, this film would have made for better character building for Marvel had they again acquired Thomas Jane for the role of "The Punisher" in the 2008 film "Punisher: Warzone" since Thomas Jane portrayed the same character of "Frank Castle" in Marvel's 2004 adaptation. Seeing that actor suited in full vested armor up to his neck [As the 2004 film depicted him in a tee shirt and the trench coat similar to a school active shooter.] would've been great for continuity regarding "Frank Castle", as it would've displayed the progression of his misery without his family presence and how more in-depth he became with his vigilante mission objective. But it also doesn't hurt to leave the actor swap up to the imagination."😎

What makes them so special is that they’re about one man and his efforts to clean up all the criminal element that’s been effecting the city. He is unbound by the normal laws that affect the police and he doesn’t destroy everything he touches. And he does have a stand up comedial partner.
