Nirvana: Unplugged In New York Ratings & Reviews
- Wes Candela25 kwietnia 2025Because I was alive when Kurt was killed, and he and his music had a profound effect on my life just as the Seattle scene did… Watching this to me is a Kin to watching the first singer songwriter performance from Kurt Cobain. I believe this is a taste of the direction he would’ve gone in over the next five years What’s great is that they have released the entire unplugged session with all the dialogue going on in between performances, and you truly get a taste for this young man’s brilliance and complete lack of vanity. He simply wants to perform the music he loves MTV and Geffen records were appalled after the recording of this show on November 18, 1993 They considered the album unreleasable, five months later, Kurt was taken from us And believe me, it was not that he took himself from us, but that’s a whole other movie (Soaked In Bleach) When they did release the album a year later on November 1, 1994 it would go on to sell over 10 million copies and is considered to be one of the best live albums ever made on top of being the most popular MTV unplugged episode ever. If you are a Nirvana fan like myself, more importantly, if you are a Kurt Cobain fan… Please watch soon Listen Phenomenal

- Scott Smith19 listopada 2025Another band that benefited from turning down the noise and showing their softer side. For many Nirvana fans (and even people who were never big fans of the band) this became their favorite release by them. It really does showcase great song choices and reworked acoustic versions of their album songs. This will always be one of my favorite Nirvana albums, and the peak of the MTV Unplugged series.
