Chciwość Ratings & Reviews
- immune_usmc16 maja 2025Great insight to the opening of the 2008 crash, plus a great story and acting,.
- Nishant Arora4 stycznia 2026Margin Call is a high-stakes, claustrophobic financial thriller that turns a complex office crisis into a masterclass of tension. It is a gripping look at the 2008 financial meltdown through the eyes of those who pulled the trigger. The Good The screenplay is incredibly sharp, distilling complex financial jargon into accessible, high-stakes drama. The ensemble cast, particularly Jeremy Irons and Paul Bettany, delivers powerhouse performances that convey desperation through subtle glances. Additionally, the film's cold, clinical cinematography perfectly captures the sterile and detached atmosphere of corporate greed. The Bad The pacing occasionally drags in the second act as the film relies heavily on repetitive dialogue-driven scenes. Some supporting characters feel like mere archetypes rather than fully realized individuals. Finally, the narrow focus on a single office building might feel overly theatrical or restrictive for viewers seeking a broader perspective on the global crisis. Verdict This is a chilling, must-watch character study for anyone who appreciates tight, dialogue-heavy dramas.

- Tanalien9 sierpnia 2025Within Margin Call lies an insight into the other landmark films about Wall Street: 2010’s Inside Job, 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street and 2015’s The Big Short. It is short-sighted to say that the defining motivation behind these onscreen bankers is greed. By making as much money possible by any means necessary, they are desperately trying to keep their sense of status alive at any cost. These bankers learn to live by a code: There are only two outcomes. I win or I lose. And I will not lose. Do we really live in a world where a few individuals’ decisions, based on personal ambition, can turn our world upside-down? Margin Call is dramatic evidence to the affirmative: Yes, we do. When these characters were faced with the consequences of their decisions, they doubled down - knowing that their actions could end the very financial games they devoted their lives to. Margin Call is a film that helps you deeply understand why. Would we have done any differently?

- Mairi Krausse20 listopada 2025Not something I would usually watch, but it has a fair amount of tension and suspense. I wish it hadn’t ended so abruptly.
- Rockitxx9 listopada 2025The actors were very good. I thought the brokers should have been more high strung
- AungWindowsPC31 października 2025Amazing movie!
- Vandyt25 października 2025The best film about the financial crisis, where tension, surprise, and despair are palpable, keeping pace with the actors
- alexandermock23 lipca 2025Heavy drama about the start to the economic collapse that led to the housing crisis, and how little the rich and powerful cared about it. For them it was just a game and the ones who truly cared were just pushed aside and disregarded. The atmosphere is tense and the performances are great. You really feel the frustration of the main characters knowing that the USA and possible the world is about to be in a a lot of trouble, but no one is listening. The only main issue is unless you are really knowledgeable about economics and investing, you might need to do a little homework. The movie does not explain a lot, which on one hand I appreciate it when movies don’t make their audience feel stupid. You just know something bad is about to happen, and the whole plot device is similar to the suitcase in Pulp Fiction. You don’t know what’s in that case but it is serious enough to move the plot forward. On the other hand, it can get a bit confusing with all the jargon going on.
- babyit116 października 2025... when the economy is based on a mortgage system you know this sort of thing is bound to happen...
- Cubane11 września 2025A "The Big Short" wannabe movie that manages to be less informative, less accurate, and less entertaining.
- Jonas2 września 2025I feel for the imaginary finance people, but after the credits I still do not give a shit about the real finance people.
