- Dr. Zaius9 marca 2026Why is nobody talking about HEEL? Not at all what I expected — but so, so good. Starring Anson Boon (PISTOL, MOBLAND), Stephen Graham (ADOLESCENCE), Andrea Riseborough (TO LESLIE), and Kit Rakusen, Heel is an electric story about an out-of-control young man and the family that rehabilitates him through deeply unconventional means. Every actor does outstanding work, but it's Boon who truly shines. His performance is raw and fearless — you can feel every inch of his character's transformation, from a damaged wreck of a human being to someone genuinely capable of love and hope. It's the kind of turn that deserves serious attention. I half-expected darkness and dread. Instead, I found something profoundly touching. Written by Bartek Bartosik and directed by Jan Komasa, HEEL is the kind of film that quietly gets under your skin and refuses to leave. Seek this one out.
- corradodalco12 g. temu*Good Boy* is *A Clockwork Orange* in reverse. Jan Komasa delivers a claustrophobic thriller in which true violence spills no blood but destroys the mind. A middle-class couple kidnaps a thug to "re-educate" him in their basement, turning an abduction into a disturbing case of domestic brainwashing.
- _Atomic7014 g. temuGood Boy begins with a genuinely intriguing setup: weird people, unsettling vibes, and a family dynamic that feels rotten from the inside out. The film hints at a tragic backstory — maybe the older son died of an overdose, maybe someone is responsible, maybe the whole household is built on guilt and repression. For a while, this ambiguity works. It pulls you in. But then the movie loses control. The parents are drawn as grotesque moral tyrants: • a rigid, authoritarian father who behaves like a cop even if he isn’t one, • a mother doped on antidepressants, drifting through scenes like a ghost, • a home where intimacy is dead and the only “purpose” is disciplining the younger son and “saving” lost souls through violence, humiliation, and puritanical righteousness. It could have been a sharp psychological portrait of moral fanaticism and family decay. Instead, the film abandons its strongest threads — grief, guilt, the mystery of the overdose, the psychological collapse — and spirals into a chaotic, directionless mess. The final act doesn’t just fail; it actively betrays the film’s early promise. What starts as a tense, atmospheric character study devolves into a sloppy, incoherent sequence of shocks that feel neither earned nor meaningful. The movie stops exploring its themes and starts throwing nonsense at the screen. Bottom line: Great beginning, strong atmosphere, compelling weirdness… and then a complete crash. A film that could have been disturbing in a good way ends up being disturbing in a pointless way. A total misfire.
- Liam2 dni temuI thoroughly enjoyed this hidden gem! It's nice to see a film trying something new and different and I enjoyed the blurred lines as to who was in the right here, or who was the 'bad guy'. Of course, in real life there are plenty of areas between the two extremes and this storybdid a great job of changing your emotions towards the characters in it as the film progressed and ended with a satisfying outcome. Recommend.
- Mike Shulman16 marca 2026Heel is one of those movies that as it ends you reflect back and think... really? Would that really be how I would react? Is it really plausible? And then you want to jump and say hell no who would even think that. And then you put yourself in Tommy's life and realize everyone sees different situations differently... especially if you've lived them... and you think... I really can't answer the question. That pretty much sums up Heel. It's a lot of philosophical questions about right and wrong and how to rehabiliate someone. Prison doesn't work a lot of the time... maybe Chris was on the something. All the charachters of course have their own quirks and issues and it definitely does keep you on your toes the entire time. You never really know... Are these people trying to help Tommy... or are they brutal serial killers and it's only a matter of time. Any movie that can make you think this much after the fact warrants a watch. It's defeinitely not an easy watch but I've seen way worse kidnapping movies. Heel 7/10
