    Complete shit. Sequel wasn’t needed

Not a great movie. Shallow, poorly scripted characters, unoriginal narrative work, cut-rate special effects. The original was executed much better and did a great job as a standalone. This sequel seems like a cash grab.

It's an entertaining disaster film, but it doesn't live up to the first movie. What made the first one so great was that the disaster really wasn't the focus, but instead how society reacts and a single family's struggle to stay together and reach safety. Migration ratchets up the spectacle, but it comes at the expense of some of the grounded tension that elevated the first movie. The number of convenient (to the plot, inconvenient to the family, of course) disasters that just magically pop up to get in the way strained credulity in a genre where you already have to suspend belief. Still, the effects were great and Butler and Baccarin put in satisfying performances. Don't expect a sequel that tops the original, but it's still an entertaining flick.

I liked the first part. But this was written by AI. The movie has so many unlogic parts that its hard to watch.

    Why was this made?

I always liked Gerald Butler movies and catastrophic movies were also those line of movies that I used to watch when I needed a good popcorn cinema. BUT - this one is something that took two hours of my life and as I can remember it didn’t wake up a single emotion in me. It was nice to watch but really nothing special and nothing where I would say, damn I’d like to watch it some day again.

..... maybe it would've been best if the meteor killed everyone in the first movie.....

I usually enjoy disaster / end of the world movies, but this one is really really crap.

One of the worst movies I have seen in a long time. Just a bunch of skits sewed together in this total dud of a film. This movie was nothing but a money grab that failed at every turn. This is a disaster film in more ways then one.

It starts off okay enough, but towards the middle it is like the writers checked out. Stuff then just starts to happen to make the next thing happen feeling very contrived. Occurrences so convenient I found myself starting to laugh. I didn't expect an Oscar contender, but I did expect a story that made more sense and less like a paint by numbers finish. If you have to, watch it, but temper your expectations.

    Waste of time

Well, it's meh! The first one felt more grounded. This one felt more like fairy-tale, where luck just follows this family around.

Greenland 2: But What If….More Disaster Butler, Baccarin and their son Roman Griffith Davis run, boat, climb, drive and shoot through varying disasters almost always showing up at precisely the exact right (or exact wrong) time. The plot is absolutely ludicrous. There’s so little thought put into the world building and how life outside the bunker over five years. Insurgents and militants are shooting each other for reasons, and yet multiple times random strangers completely trust Butler for no reason. Here, hop in my car, take my daughter, take my vehicle. They approach a protected area being actively guarded with military force and but they let them because he said, please, I think. Everything about it was ridiculous and nonsensical. Disappointing because I thought the first one was a surprisingly good disaster film. But we definitely had a fun time as a family on the ride home dissecting all aspects of this one.
