I just watched Good Luck Chuck, and I would give it 2 out of 5 stars. I have no words. This is one of those comedies that tries way too hard to be edgy and ends up being more annoying than funny. It has a decent premise, but the execution is all over the place. The humor is crude, the jokes are repetitive, and by the end, it just feels exhausting. The idea behind the movie had potential. A guy realizes that every woman he sleeps with finds true love with the next person they date. That could have led to some fun moments, but instead, the movie leans so hard into immature, over the top humor that it loses any charm it could have had. Dane Cook plays the lead, and while he has had some funny moments in stand up, his performance here just does not work. His character is completely unlikable, and it is hard to root for him at all. Jessica Alba is one of the few bright spots in the movie. She plays the love interest, and she is actually charming and likable. But the writing does not give her much to work with, and most of her scenes feel wasted. There was an opportunity to make her character more interesting, but instead, the movie just relies on the same predictable rom com formula without adding anything fresh. The humor is where this movie really falls apart. It is a nonstop parade of crude jokes, awkward sex scenes, and forced slapstick that does not land. Some raunchy comedies find a balance between being offensive and actually being funny. This one does not. Instead of clever dialogue or genuinely funny moments, it relies on shock value and gross out humor, and most of it just feels lazy. The biggest issue is that it never really figures out what it wants to be. It is too crude to be a sweet rom com, but it also fails as an outrageous comedy because it is not creative enough. There are a few moments where it seems like it might be trying to have some emotional depth, but they feel forced and out of place. By the time the movie reaches its predictable ending, it is hard to care about anything that happens. The supporting cast does not add much either. Dan Fogler plays the best friend, and he is supposed to be the comic relief, but most of his scenes just make things worse. His character is obnoxious and tries way too hard to be funny, which makes his jokes even more unbearable. Instead of helping balance the movie, he just adds to the mess. The pacing is not great either. Some scenes drag on way too long, especially the ones that rely on physical comedy that is not funny to begin with. The jokes start repeating themselves, and about halfway through, it feels like the movie is just throwing random ideas at the screen, hoping something will work. Spoiler alert, it does not. There are plenty of raunchy comedies that do this kind of humor well, but Good Luck Chuck is not one of them. It is a movie that feels like it was made just to push boundaries without actually being clever or entertaining. It is frustrating, repetitive, and honestly, kind of exhausting to sit through. Would I ever watch it again? Absolutely not. I have no words.

Good Luck Chuck is basically one of those cliche rom coms while also adding copious raunchy content. I enjoyed Jessica Alba's scenes only with the exception of every other appearing character who I don't care for or are just forgettable. Overall, this movie wasn't even close enough for my liking, only if they made rewrote some scenes/characters to be more distinctive rather than an average rom com, perhaps like any major unexpected twist that would've altered the plot as an opportunity not to suffer from a generic perspective. My rating: 1.5/10
