Ich żony zaś – w tym elegancka partnerka Franka, Shelley – cieszą się pięknem, luksusami i rozpasaniem swojego osiedla. Życie w nim jest doskonałe, a potrzeby każdego mieszkańca są zaspokajane przez pracodawców. W zamian proszą oni tylko o dyskrecję i niekwestionowane oddanie sprawie Victory. Na powierzchni idyllicznego życia pojawiają się jednak pęknięcia, a spod atrakcyjnej fasady wyzierają przebłyski czegoś strasznego.

- Kevin Ward6 lipca 2025This definitely feels like just an alternate version of The Stepford Wives, but the social satire feels very shallow and not throughly explored. Much of the first half (probably more like 2/3rds) feels like it’s there purely to indulge in this 1950’s utopia and in Florence Pugh. And while that stuff is great (particularly Pugh), it lingers for too long and I found myself wondering “where is this headed?” a few too many times. Then when we finally get to the central pivot point of the film, there’s a lot that could have been interesting to explore. Gender roles of married couples, female breadwinners, misogyny and control, family dynamics, etc. However, once these themes are hinted at, the narrative of the film doesn’t really spend any time exploring them and instead just races to the finish line. In the end, I left the theater feeling pretty mixed. It’s a really good looking (and sounding) film and Pugh is radiant, but it really felt like it was lacking in any kind of depth.

Only a garbage person would believe these things about that man and base a whole character on him. Don't support or waste your time on this.

- Eric Bakke9 października 2024Visually pleasing, strong performances, suspenseful, intriguing, mysterious. Explores themes of societal expectations, gender roles, and the illusion of perfection, with a gradual sense of unease. A severely underrated film.
