- Drew Swords2 dni temuThere are a lot of great elements here, even if the film isn’t the most cohesive overall. This is probably my favourite Emily Blunt performance; she delivers a heartfelt yet wonderfully oddball portrayal that really carries the film. (My mum desperately wants her wardrobe from it.) The comedy landed well for me, and the action sequences were confidently directed. The film also attempts to spark a deeper conversation about the paradoxical relationship between religion and extraterrestrial life, though I found that aspect less compelling than its exploration of synchronicity, the human spiritual experience, ESP, and the idea of “light workers” or spiritually chosen individuals. While it doesn’t fully bring all of its ideas together into a cohesive whole, it’s an interesting and entertaining watch that’s worth seeing at least once.

Williams' score soars, the blocking is gorgeous, and the back half genuinely got me. Loses half a star for a baggy script and a finale that pushes too hard for tears. Still one of his best in years.

Some cool action sequences, has that Spielberg vibe but it was one of his typical 50/50 movies over that last 15 or so years and this one was just not very good. I love watching movies more than once and I can confidentiality say this is a one and done

Disclosure day has moments of mystery, action, and wonder, but under all of it lies a hodgepodge of his previous films like E.T The Extra Terrestrial, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I don't think it mixes the elements from his previous works well enough The last third of the film feels like it drags with everyone practically submitting to the main character with almost no real pushback. The cgi is well animated but none of it feels real or cohesive with the live action elements. Overall I enjoyed the film as an otherworldly spectacle, but anything above that should be taken with heavy grains of salt.

Note: I hate the default poster for this film. It looks like a fucking axillary crutch. Watched in IMAX at Regal Warren West Currently Ranked #80/98 in 2026 Ranked Added to Extraterrestrial Excellence (it’s at the end of the list tho)
- Chris C6 dni temuAliens. Cover-ups. Shadowy, quasi-governmental organizations out to get you. Steven Spielberg. This had all of the ingredients to make a stellar movie, but somehow it just doesn't really come together. The individual pieces are fine, and Emily Blunt's performance in particular is quite good, but the movie as a whole just kind of meanders and really feels like there's something missing. Definitely can't say it justifies a theater viewing, but it'll be fine for streaming.
