Somewhere in Podkarpacie there is a small village where Mieczyslaw lives with his wife. Wladyslawa is disabled and requires constant assistance even with the simplest activities. However, an older man cares not only for his wife - he also cares for a whole gallery of unwanted items that someone else has forgotten or thrown into a pile of useless scrap. Mieczyslaw collects tarnished candlesticks and dusty churns to save the past from oblivion.
