I just watched Aloha, Scooby-Doo! and I give it 4 out of 5 stars. This one is such a fun ride. It’s got everything I want in a Scooby-Doo movie — mystery, laughs, a creepy legend, and that classic gang chemistry. The Hawaiian setting adds a whole new layer of energy and style, and it just feels like a cool change of pace from the usual haunted mansions or spooky amusement parks. It’s bright, colorful, and still spooky enough to feel like real Scooby-Doo. The gang heads to Hawaii after Daphne scores them all a trip to attend a surfing contest, but of course, they don’t get to relax. Right away, there’s talk of an ancient surfing spirit called the Wiki-Tiki who starts causing mayhem and scaring people off the island. From there, it’s classic Mystery Inc. chaos. You’ve got chases, disguises, traps, clues, and a big unmasking moment at the end — all the things that make these movies so fun to watch. The animation in this one still looks really good, especially for a direct-to-video release. The Hawaiian setting is done super well. The waves, beaches, volcanoes, caves — it all adds to the mood. You don’t really expect Scooby-Doo to be this tropical, but they pull it off. It somehow makes the mystery feel bigger, like they’re dealing with something ancient and serious, even though it’s still full of the usual Scooby-Doo comedy. All the characters are true to form. Scooby and Shaggy are still hungry and terrified of everything. Fred is all about making traps and figuring things out. Daphne is stylish and smart, and Velma is locked into the mystery, analyzing every clue. Their personalities bounce off each other just like always. There are some really funny moments, especially with the locals trying to explain the legend and Shaggy totally freaking out at every sound in the jungle. And of course, Scooby trying to surf is exactly as goofy and fun as it sounds. The mystery is decent, too. It’s not super hard to figure out, but it still keeps you guessing enough to stay interested. There are a few suspects, some suspicious behavior, and that classic Scooby-Doo twist at the end. I won’t spoil anything, but it wraps up the right way — with a trap, a chase, and a reveal that makes you go, “Ohhh, okay, that makes sense.” And that’s exactly what I want from a Scooby mystery. What I liked most about Aloha, Scooby-Doo! is that it doesn’t feel like it’s just trying to copy the usual formula and paste it into a new setting. The Hawaiian culture and local legends are part of the story, and it feels like the writers actually put thought into how to make it fit. It still feels like Scooby-Doo, but with a new twist. And that’s why it works so well. I give Aloha, Scooby-Doo! 4 out of 5 stars because it’s fun, colorful, and full of that classic Scooby-Doo charm. It’s not the best mystery they’ve ever done, but the setting, the energy, and the vibe all make it stand out as one of the better ones in the series. Overall Aloha, Scooby-Doo! is a great mix of spooky and silly, with a tropical twist that totally works. It’s a fun mystery that’s easy to enjoy and a solid addition to the Scooby-Doo collection.
