Perhaps the whole ‘guy in a suit plays the alien’ might come across as silly and dated to some but it’s worth looking through all the quiet moments of tension. A score that sits and swells, shadow and light aim to direct and confuse. These all play together so well in the purpose that dreaded unknown is what is coming for you and all hope is lost. Alien is more than a slasher film in space. It’s an unparalleled triumph for its time that defied modern and classic conventions to create a truly unique vision on horror that plays with imagination in a way that it is truly timeless.
- Desmond Dale24 stycznia 2025Just the perfect horror and possibly my favorite Sci-Fi film ever. The pacing is masterful. Ridley stretches out each kill to its furthest point of tension. The biomechanical designs by Geiger are impossibly detailed and intricate. And it's just a film that has a slightly slow start but never steps crescendoing until it's very last minute.
