Where to Watch A Guy Named Joe
- Mister Arn2 sierpnia 2026“A Guy Named Joe” is a well-written story, and the premise still works. My biggest issue is the casting. Spencer Tracy is a terrific actor, but he is simply too old for the role. During World War II, most of the men flying these missions were in their late teens or early twenties, and Tracy is old enough to be their father. It kept pulling me out of the story. That said, in 1943 Spencer Tracy was one of Hollywood's biggest stars, and audiences of the time probably accepted him in the role without much question. Even with that reservation, it's a well-made film that's easy to watch and worth seeing. For me, though, it never rises above average.
