Born Edgar Harrison Friedman, Jr., Ted Jordan is best remembered for his recurring role of the level-headed Nathan Burke on Gunsmoke. He flourished as a notable character actor appearing in over 90 features including Walking Tall (1973), The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again (1979), Mother Wore Tights (1947), and series such as Shaft, Kung Fu, The High Chaparral, Eight is Enough, Dallas and The Waltons.
