Actor

Neerja is a British actress, who trained at Drama Centre London after graduating from Cambridge University. She has just won Best Actress at the C-Fem Fantastic Film Festival Murcia in Spain for the leading role of Annji in her latest feature film AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS directed by Johnny Kevorkian. In SOLD, a Best of Festival pick at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Neerja played Anita, a survivor of trafficking directed by Jeffrey Brown. Prior to this in HACKNEY'S FINEST she played female lead Pari, an Afghan biker chick, directed by Chris Bouchard and she joined Bollywood veterans Om Puri and Sharmila Tagore to play Tuli Banerjee in the feature film LIFE GOES ON. On television, Neerja has played guest leads in the BBC's Casualty and Doctors and in theatre, she played Hermia in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM to great critical acclaim, directed by Sir Trevor Nunn, which completed his directorial canon of all 37 of Shakespeare's plays, just in time for the 400 year celebrations. Neerja then made her debut at Shakespeare's Globe playing Indamora, the title character of THE CAPTIVE QUEEN. She was invited to join Peter Brook during his workshops for THE PRISONER at The National Theatre Studio and Kathryn Hunter directed her in the play UNTOUCHABLE in which she was cast as the freedom fighter Deorao.
