Ettore Maria Fizzarotti was an Italian film director and screenwriter, renowned for his contributions to the "musicarello" genre—a blend of musical and comedy films popular in Italy during the 1960s. Born in Naples, he was the son of director Armando Fizzarotti. Ettore began his career assisting his father and later collaborated with directors such as Vittorio Cottafavi and Raffaello Matarazzo. He made his directorial debut in 1964 with In ginocchio da te, starring singer Gianni Morandi. This film's success led to a series of collaborations with Morandi, including Non son degno di te (1965) and Se non avessi più te (1965). Fizzarotti's films are characterized by their light-hearted narratives and integration of popular music, reflecting the cultural trends of Italy in the 1960s.
