Carla Pekander

Carla Pekander (also known in Chinese as 彭坤荣) is a Finnish film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. She has studied at Beijing Film Academy, and Yunnan Arts University, which made her fluent in Chinese. Following in the footsteps of Zhang Yimou, Carla Pekander dedicated time for learning the art of cinematography first before attempting directing. Pekander is greatly inspired by nature and the changing seasons are visible part of her work. Her films have gathered attention in the international film festival circuit.
