- Grave Encounters
This film is a guilty pleasure of mine. Not the most brilliant movie of all time, but *SPOILER* I absolutely love the concept of the hospital changing around them, keeping them trapped forever. I have never seen a movie play on this concept before or since. There is something so frightening about closing a door behind you only to open it and the room on the other side is completely different than it was just a moment ago. It's a very particular type of fear that combines claustrophobia, the fear of being lost, and the fear of darkness, with supernatural psychological horror. For me, it was the skepticism of the main characters that helped me feel grounded in the plot. I would be just like them, refusing to admit anything supernatural is going on until it's completely undeniable. Personally, I think this movie is worth a watch if you are into horror films. I won't claim the production is anything to be excited about, but the execution still manages to make me unsettled all these years later.Grave Encounters
