Tender, strange, sexy (Alexander Skarsgård just smolders the whole film), and unexpectedly moving, with an intimacy that’s hyper specific yet universal. Genuine complex romance and self discovery in an unconventional relationship dripping in awkwardness, humor, and kink. Fans of Secretary are in for a treat.
A wonderfully uncomfortable slow burn. The tension keeps tightening until the whole thing feels like being trapped at a dinner party you desperately need to escape. Penelope Cruz is perfection as always. Dialogue made me squirm and cackle equally.

WYR turns a sadistic parlor game into a surprisingly elegant little machine of dread… its cruelty sharpens in the unnerving banality of a formal setting. Here the horror isn’t a monster, but a roomful of polite people agreeing to behave monstrously. It gives the ick as much as a gasp of laughter with a nasty sense of humor, brisk pacing, and a cast that commits to the increasingly appalling premise without winking it away. It’s campy trash, but trash with excellent manners and a sadistic mind. Excellent
