A woman is found shot on her bathroom floor. Her boyfriend claims it is a suicide and the autopsy results come back showing the wounds as self-inflicted. But inconsistencies, like the fact that the victim had just packed up her car to take her kids to Arkansas, keep one investigator returning to the case. A break finally comes more then 10 years later, contradicting the story of events and reveal deception, uncovering the truth behind who killed her and the motive for murder being closer than once expected.
