Anna van Kessel, a behavioral expert who works for the National Police Agency and is deployed at various locations in the Netherlands to advise on ongoing (murder) investigations, is called in on a case in the Weerribben. There, the body of 17-year-old Daphne Oosthoek (Sterre van Woudenberg) is found naked and with a plastic bag around her head in the water, which quickly leads to the suspicion of a sexual motive. Michel van Ginkel (Chris Zegers), the forester of the Weerribben, is the last person to have seen her alive. When Anna discovers a link with another girl who disappeared three years earlier, the case gains momentum.
