Ismail Basbeth is an Indonesian film director. With his two friends, he created Hide Project Indonesia, an indie production house.
He studied in Asian Film Academy Busan and won the BFC & SHOCS Scholarship Fund. Ismail was also chosen in the Berlinale Talent Campus program by the Berlinale International Film Festival in Germany.
Ismail was nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Director in FFI 2015 for his film Mencari Hilal (2015).
