A great bad movie that showcases the style of early 90s video game commercials and has a b-plot about a creepy detective who hunts children extrajudiciously, and actively sabotages another man who is looking for his runaway child? Pure nostalgia for that era, if you've ever wanted a trip down memory lane. Pairs well with the live action Mario Bros movie.
- wonderrxjr19. oktober 2025Actually the world's longest ad for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It's a fun story, but some things felt so weird and I feel it's too busy promoting the NES and its games that it doesn't give itself time to breathe. The ending just being a full blown trailer basically for Mario 3 is just insane to me but that's a world without YouTube I guess. Also didn't really like the depiction of a clearly autistic child as something that needs to be institutionalized
