- Ajay13. august 2026I love Sam Raimi, but good god what a bore. It's an old B movie, I get it, but it's so dull across ever scene that its 85 minute runtime feels like hours. The characters are lifeless, and that's before they turn into the demon zombies - even Bruce Campbell's Ash. The set is nothing to write home about, but Raimi's cinematography does do some cool and interesting things with angles and points of view. The plot is, well, as basic as plain water, and doesn't really give you much to go on before everyone starts screaming in the traditional, over-the-top 80's style. I honestly don't get how this movie is so loved - I'm gonna guess it's got a lot to do with nostalgia.

- Zokkiie17. juni 2026It’s honestly kind of amazing what this movie manages to pull off with such a small budget. Instead of being held back by its limitations, it uses them to get more creative. The practical effects, makeup, and stop motion work have this homemade quality that somehow makes everything feel even more intense and memorable. You can feel the effort behind every scene, and that passion gives the movie a personality that a lot of bigger productions lack. The camera work is a huge part of what makes it stand out too. The wild movement and creative shots give the whole thing a chaotic, almost unpredictable energy, while the sound design adds a lot to the tension and atmosphere. Some of the acting and effects obviously show their age, but that rough edge is part of the appeal. It’s messy, ambitious, and full of ideas — exactly the kind of movie that becomes a classic because of what it achieved with so little.
- Kevin Ward3. juli 2025So….Evil Dead….Why the hell did I wait so long to watch this? It’s like exactly my $h*%. Practical effects and gore that still look great. I will say the one benefit of waiting so long is that being more familiar with the actor that Bruce Campbell has become, and then seeing him here is kind of a trip. He’s so fresh faced, young and green here.
