- Survivor Always28. juli 2026A film that delves into what it must have been like to be a rebellious teenager in Germany during the rise of the Nazis and how hard it was (for some anyway) to resist the indoctrination coming from all around you. I love the use of music and dance and the love of American culture as a tool to keep these kids from being sucked in to Nazism as long as possible. I think the two main boys give a wonderful example of exactly how opposing ideologies could be formed from the same base and beginning mindset. I found this emotional by the end and inspiring. Was it a bit cheesy at times, yes but sometimes teenage behavior can be cheesy. We all (most of us) go through that stage. This film does a great job of showing us the difficulty of being a teenager but how that is exasperated by the political instability of a horrible time and how the indoctrination happened and why it was so successful in Nazi Germany. Feels like a humble film with a real impact.
