- Hipster ZOMBIE6. september 2025I am amazed with how some films can do so much with a budget under 12 million dollars compared to big “summer blockbusters” that continue to cost upwards of 300 million and deliver forgettable theater going experiences that are killing cinemas and now the studios that make them. Enter Primitive War—a film that doesn’t just stomp onto the screen with all the Dino spectacle and action it achieved it with a budget that was reportedly only 7 million. A far cry from “Jurassic World: Rebirth” that cost upwards of 180 to 225 million to make and promote. One of the biggest surprises here? The cast. Normally, in a flick where soldiers are tossed into a dino-infested nightmare, you expect them to be as disposable as redshirts in Star Trek. But no—Primitive War makes you care. These aren’t just macho grunts waiting to be raptor chow. The camaraderie between the squad feels lived-in, they’ve sweated through the same hell of Veitnam and come out bonded. When they joke, you laugh with them; when they cry, you feel it. Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) puts the film on his back and is the heart and soul that commands the film. And what about the dinosaurs you ask? The dinos are the real deal—hulking, vicious, and dripping with prehistoric viciousness. The VFX crew clearly brought their A-game because these beasts don’t just look terrifying; they feel threatening. Every time one slithered out of the mist or came crashing through the foliage, its intense. No one was safe in this film. Let’s talk about the good stuff: the action. Primitive War doesn’t shy away from the brutality. Limbs fly, blood sprays, and the jungle floor practically turns into a Slip ’N Slide of guts. But it’s not mindless—each set piece is choreographed chaos, equal parts war movie grit and dino-horror savagery. The soldiers strategy is put to the test by blood thirsty but calculated creatures who countered their every move. Primitive War thrives on creativity, practical effects, and razor-sharp filmmaking choices. The dinos look ten times scarier than anything Hollywood’s most bloated franchises have coughed up lately, proving once again that heart and ingenuity beat out deep pockets and shallow blockbusters. It’s the cinematic equivalent of a punk band recording a killer album in a garage—and somehow blowing the stadium acts off the stage. Primitive War isn’t just another creature feature—it’s a feral, pulse-pounding gut punch of a movie that dares to care about its characters while still giving us the glorious, gory dinosaur chaos we crave. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

- jack2760013. februar 2026An absolute blast. Ride it out, folks. It has one hell of an ending. Check your brain at the door and enjoy the ride.
- Censor_Me_Not27. september 2025Made for tv movie. Quit watching after 45 minutes. Couldn’t take anymore.
- SoranIsOn10. februar 2026Dog water, the trailer is just enough of the good cgi and acting to make you believe you'd want to watch this. The acting is just so awful you can't enjoy even a minute of it. This is C grade stuff.
- Tronautic6. februar 2026It goes if you don't think about it. But 2 hours was wayyy too long. I mean, I watched it and still not sure wth was going on on those dinos lol. Also can't really remember any character bc there was no deeper meaning any of them. Same as the plot. Like I said, if you just need to kill time and don't have anything else to watch, go ahead.
- mhamreus5. februar 2026Primitive War isn’t chasing awards, but it absolutely knows what it is. And honestly, it pulls off something the modern Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films keep missing. The dinosaurs feel dangerous again. Borrowing heavily from Aliens and a handful of classic Vietnam war films, it blends squad-level tension, jungle paranoia, and outright brutality in a way that just works. Yes, it sags a bit in the middle, but the effects stay strong and the creatures feel more threatening than anything in the bigger-budget dino franchises. The violence is over the top, but in the right way. If dinosaurs actually existed in a war zone, it would be ugly, chaotic, and brutal. Even with its flaws, this is a cut above the glossy dino drudgery we’ve been getting lately. Hell, it might even be one of the better Vietnam war movies to come along in a while.
- markcu1023. januar 2026Over all good just CGI was a bit bad
- munk88830. desember 2025Nam and dinosaurs. The movie I never knew I wanted. Cussing, gore, lots of shooting. Have a beverage n chill. Enjoy.
- Claude Belley15. desember 2025I like it
- Dorian Sandre8. desember 2025It's a very bad B movie. The special effects have come a long way and almost look half decent but the acting is all over the place, ranging from decent to cringe. The biggest issue I have is that it's not bad enough to be hilariously bad, which could make that kind of movie entertaining. Tldr. Hard pass unless you want to see your remaining brain cells hide in a corner and commit sepukku.
- Wesley B2. desember 2025A movie that tries to cross Jurrasic Park and the Vietnam war, but fails miserably. Where do I start? the dialogue is terrible, too much green screen and the acting is awful, with Jeremy Piven providing the worst performance. Avoid this waste of 2 hours.
- DominusMors26. september 2025Primitive War sets out to do one thing and one thing only: entertain. And by God, it does just that. It's a thrill from start to finish. Bigger, more affluent studios are weeping at what these guys did with a miniscule (by comparison) budget. Wannabe critics, eat your hearts out; sit down, turn your brain off, and enjoy the ride. This isn't a movie with deeper, more existential meaning. This is a movie about soldiers fighting dinosaurs in the jungles of Vietnam. What more could you want?
- pipanni16. november 2025It's an entertaining movie, even though the premise is ridiculous. There were times I thought the actors were gonna burst off laughing, but the movie holds up and the special effects are pretty good. Watch this if there's nothing else on and you have some time to kill.
