Nicki is twelve years old and already has a lot of responsibilities. Since her mother died, she has practically been running the household and looking after her three younger siblings. This causes problems, and she is also struggling at school at the moment, especially in math. And she doesn't like her math teacher, Miss Lorenz, at all. Sometimes Nicki escapes into the dream of being a queen. Then she asks the Lord Chancellor for advice on how to solve her problems.
