Monsieur Hulot's brother-in-law is the manager of a factory where plastics are manufactured. His nephew grows up in a house where everything is fully automated and the boy is raised in a similar fashion. To take away the influence of the uncle on his son, his brother-in-law gets Hulot a job in his factory.

Mon Oncle is pure cinema effortlessly funny, sharply observant, and full of social critique delivered with Jacques Tati’s signature charm. He balances satire and warmth so well that the humor never feels mean‑spirited; instead, it highlights the absurdities of modern life in a way that’s still relatable today. The visual comedy, the timing, the playful design of every scene, Tati brings it all together with such elegance. It’s clever, joyful, and timeless, a perfect example of how comedy can be both entertaining and quietly profound.
