- MR_BigTime12. april 2026Honestly, with all the bad rap it got, I was expecting to finish Masterminds and wonder what in all hell did I just watch. While it's no top comedy either, I found myself chuckling quite a bit, and that's something a truly bad movie won't get from me. The characters compliment one another seamlessly: David, the adorable dork; Steve, the jerk you love to hate; Kelly, the aimless drifter that comes out as a skank at first but then you realize she just doesn't even know herself or what she truly wants; Jandice, the robotic-like psychopath that somehow manages to make David's looking elsewhere justifiable. So yeah, this is greatly underrated.

Every character brings something hilarious to the table, with Zach Galifianakis delivering one of his most delightfully absurd performances—arguably his best. The film embraces its bizarre, real-life inspiration with gleeful ridiculousness, turning a true crime story into a wonderfully offbeat and entertaining ride.
