Somewhere in England in the nineteenth century. A pretty housemaid works in a nice house, which is Dr. Henry Jekyll's (John Malkovich's) house. Mary Reilly (Julia Roberts) think she found her best job, because she is poor and the doctor is well-known and rich. This movie tells the "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" story as a woman sees the two men, one of them is good and the other is evil. And she loves them.

- Jeremiah-7 d.Broke my 90s streak with the last movie but im back already baby. This here is a slog and usually bad accents dont bug me but put me on that list of ppl who think julia roberts really failed the accent department. What it does have going for it is a well done atmospheric victorian era vibe for sure and you know i love me some victorian thrillers. But color me disappointed mostly in this. Malkovich is Malkovich mostly but does play two opposite sides of malkovich naturally. Movie coulda shifted more towards horror and been better for it. The one trasformation we see on camera is laughable cause of the 90s cgi. Had that scene been done the same with cuts and a well done practical effect from like any of the special effects wizards of the day it coulda been top tier, but alas. 90s charm. Not a great movie but it still has that 90s charm.
