- erikackermann-4 d.I really wanted to like this movie. It’s sad to see Denzel and Spike Lee make something like this that seems like an echo of their previous work. Awful script, inconsistent tone, weird soundtrack choices… just a bad movie unfortunately. It had potential too with this cast and the premise is cool but it’s really poorly executed. I wish Denzel would make a good movie again 😢

Sadly, not this time. Seriously, don’t bother watching it. Don’t wait to see if it picks up because it doesn't.

- Stankss9. september 2025i mean... what? why would denzel play in this? must have been some of the worst garbage to come out this year.. who even wrote this stuff? it has a feeling of beeing written by someone who grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth.. the dialogue is terrible the acting is bad. ( and that is coming from someone where Denzel is in my top 3 list of all time favorites. ) naaah, this was not it. gawd dang this was boring.

I feel like he is hard up for money or something, or owed someone a massive debt. Enough with the woke nonsense too. White, black, green or blue. We have all had enough. The ONLY good thing about this movie experience, was that I didnt pay to watch it.
- tellum4. mars 2026I don’t care what the credits say, this is not a Spike Lee movie, it’s a Tyler Perry movie. The patriarchal figure who isn’t a good person but the audience is expected to relate to. The nonsensical plot with too many holes and loose ends to count. The mystifying dialogue and character motivations that make no sense. Denzel and Rocky did pretty good acting, but the only trope this was missing was an underground sex club.

The film deserves little more criticism not because it doesn’t deserve it but because it doesn’t command the time of day in its baseless capacity for further comment. You’d be best served watching Ransom (1996) with Mel Gibson than this trifle.
- PlexecutionerX6. september 2025Absolutely horrible movie... turned it off after about 40 minutes. Wanted to see where it was going but the acting and direction of the movie was just so bad. It was as if Spike Lee just gave everyone permission to improv each scene. And then the movie score was so overwhelming it felt as if the film was made in the 70s... not sure if that's what they were going for, but man this was just a really bad movie.
- FTV3. februar 2026A Spike Lee Denzel team up? You don’t have to beg me to watch it. I’m a fan of both of them gentlemen and this movie stayed true to the cinematic style Spike likes to do. Denzel is epic in his acting roles as always. It was ASAP Rocky, and Jeffery Williams that really grabbed their roles and ran with it. Them brothers can act. I loved it. Very good movie
