My quick rating - 3.1/10. That was a really uneventful movie watching. There have been plenty of fight movies with the main lead (Sasso) who loses the big fight, and then life becomes less meaningful after that. Same story here as a bouncer saves a singer (Ruiz) from being raped backstage and is then asked to be her bodyguard. This story has been done far better than this on many levels. First, neither of these two, who are the focus of the film, can act their way out of a paper box. Watching them communicate is like staring at your shoes sitting on the floor. Keep watching, something might happen. You would also assume the Muay Thai boxer may, at some point, show off some skills in fighting. Maybe at all? Give you a reason to watch and cheer for him? Nope, the two times you see a punch thrown, they look no different than the 9-year-olds on YouTube. The other thing I'll bother pointing out. Don't these movies usually culminate in some rivalry, where you get another chance at the fighter you lost to, or the up-and-comer, or I don't know, ANYTHING? Naw, just some schmo brought in to fight, no reason. Only real point of this movie is watching Ruiz, who can't sing for crap I might add to the insult of this flick, as she travels around the globe and we get a little travel log to look at. On top of this, I think they were trying to push some transgender point as well, and totally blew that idea off. Terrible.
