- Niztradamus-1 d.TLDR: Hate Crime is fine for what it is but could have benefited from more practical effects and better writing. Hate Crime is one of those movies that try to shock the viewers. While they achieve that in certain aspects, I felt that the effects were mostly too little or non-existent. People get shot in the head without spilling a single drop of blood. Regardless of how you personally feel about Israel and Jews, it's still shocking to see how our bad guys treat this Jewish family. While the writers didn't do their historical homework, our bad guys really sell the image of idiotic, drug addled maniacs. Even the real Nazis would have condemned many of their actions. The audio is very realistic, which you would think is a good thing but in reality makes it very hard to understand the screaming lunatics for a vast majority of the movie. It's a fine watch but could have used some more work.
