ultra-realistic portrayal of hacking. i learned a lot from this movie; like typing "cookie" to get rid of a virus. my windows 95 box has never run smoother.

I love this movie. Hackers is a guilty pleasure movie of mine. Is this an Oscar deserving movie? No. Is this movie a lot of fun from start to finish? Yes! And, as a side note, the hacking in this movie is actually pretty accurate even if the visual depictions of are completely Ludacris. This movie is also a great time capsule of the 90's.

Pretty fucking stupid but it absolutely quenches my innate desire for 90s counter culture films and Angelina Jolie is at her absolute peak here aesthetically.

This is a must-see for anybody that is in the IT world, you will absolutely love the way that they depict the internet as well as technology throughout the course of this movie. The characters seem to not just follow the formula of hacker = young adults + superiority complex, they actually seem to define it. The props are great and the choice of actors for the time was brilliant. Did I mention the hacker names are absolutely a work of teenage poetry? If you have a few minutes and walk into it knowing that you're not coming out of this movie knowing how to " hack the planet," you'll enjoy it.

More ridiculous than the typical teen movie, but this movie has a lot of charm in spite of the insanity of the premise and many poor plot points. The teens are likable and the acting is generally good.
