- Zokkiie25. mars 2026Man, this had so much potential, and it just doesn’t land. The world-building feels thin, the tone’s kind of messy, and it never really taps into that big, cosmic DC vibe it should’ve had. You can see hints of a better movie in there, which almost makes it more frustrating. It plays things a bit too safe instead of really going for it. At least Mark Strong absolutely nails it—perfect casting as Sinestro. He’s got the presence and feels straight out of the comics.
- flavo4323. november 2025Green Lantern should have been an easy win. Hal Jordan is one of my favourite heroes—fearless, noble, and built for big-screen cosmic storytelling. Ryan Reynolds is an actor I genuinely enjoy, funny, charismatic, and capable of far more range than he often gets credit for. Coming off the success of Nolan’s Batman films, you’d think this would be another major step forward for DC. So… what happened? The movie we got was a baffling mess on so many levels. The tone was inconsistent, the plot felt stitched together, and the CGI suit and effects made everything look cartoonish instead of epic. Even Reynolds, as much as I like him, was lost inside a script that didn’t know whether it wanted to be serious space opera or goofy comedy. The result was so disappointing that it practically banished Green Lantern from film for years. A tragic waste of a great character with endless potential.
- stuhannaford8. september 2025The worst reviewed movies rarely end up being as bad as they say… this may be one of those movies that is even worse. An ugly, lazy effort from start to finish. The biggest issue is the usual safety net superhero films rely on, CGI. Think early 90’s CD ROM video games level… the ones where graphics are merged with real video. Remember? Dreadful is an understatement. The story is dull, the backstory duller. On paper, an excellent cast. In reality, not so much. The script has a distinctly cheddar aroma. Overall, it’s clear that the producers felt that superhero, the times’ female flavour of the month TV wise, and a script written exclusively for Reynolds’ style of humour would be winner, winner… sadly, it’s very much, dog’s dinner. I left Green Lantern feeling a colour closer to brown would be more appropriate.
