In addition to the winding down of his official duties, Mariano is frequently overcome with thoughts of his late wife Aurora. Fondly remembering the moment he first noticed her beauty, but more specifically, wracked with the pain of not knowing who it was that she had an affair with 40 years prior. It’s kind of a rambles and loses focus at times, but it works more than it doesn’t.
