- dodgyroge74@yahoo.co.uk22. september 2026I remember this being way better back in the days of VHS. Also, the new DTS-HDMA 5.1 track is very lacking. The best audio scene for surround and bass was the opening logo at the start of the film.

I Come in Peace is a buddy-cop movie mixed with aliens, kung fu, drug dealers, science-fiction gadgets, and enough trench coats and mullets to supply an entire decade. Sign me up. The movie is wildly over the top and clearly tongue-in-cheek, yet everyone plays it almost completely straight. That combination is exactly what makes it work. Nobody pauses to explain how absurd any of this is. They simply keep chasing, shooting, kicking, and glaring. Lundgren may not be the most expressive actor, but he commits to the material, and that sincerity helps hold the movie together. The buddy-cop dynamic is familiar, the villains are gloriously ridiculous, and the alien weaponry provides just enough novelty to keep things moving. The final chase is especially fun, with echoes of The Terminator and T2, though without anything resembling their budget, polish, or restraint. Does the plot make much sense? Not particularly. But this is essentially an ’80s action movie that wandered into 1990. It was built to sell tickets by throwing several popular genres into a blender and pressing “maximum.” Crime thriller, martial arts, science fiction, action comedy… apparently nobody in the room was willing to choose just one. It’s silly, energetic, and never boring.

- 12. september 2026This is such a great concept. It screams for a remake. Jason Statham as cop. Jason Momoa as bad alien. Maybe Jared Leto as good alien. Or, give good alien roll to Dolph Lundgren. Maybe instead of present day, you could set it in the future. Say 200 years from now. And instead of Earth, you could set it out in solar system. So many options. Come on Netflix!!!!
