Antonio Ricci, an unemployed man in the depressed post-WWII economy of Italy, finally gets a job hanging up posters, but he needs a bicycle. When his bicycle is stolen, he and son walk the streets of Rome looking for it. Antonio finally manages to locate the thief, yet, with no proof he must abandon his cause. But he and his son know perfectly well that, without a bike, Antonio won't be able to keep his job.

    I did not like it. I do not get it. It’s supposed to be powerful. Neorealism or something. 90 minutes of my life that I’m not getting back. The acting was credible, and it does give you a glimpse of post-WWII Italy, though, so that’s something.

    It's a masterpiece of cinema, a classic yet realistic tale of human emotion that has inspired a generation of filmmakers to find meaning in normal life from those larger-than-life characters.
