- Kris Woodrow29. desember 2025Not very good, lots of things don't make sense. Easily forgettable film.
- Andrew Clout4. juli 2025Excellent movie. In today’s world, a must watch.
- Kevin Ward1. juli 2025Me, when AIA got the kids to do the dishes and brush their teeth without the parents asking. Honestly, I mostly liked this, but felt like last third was kind of a mess and not all that scary or thrilling. I kind of liked where the film ultimately ends up, but similar to Slingshot (with which I did an airplane double feature), I can’t really say the film was worth watching. Mrs. Davis did it better.
- mhenderson_992. juni 2025great concept. we should be scared
- dylan McMahon26. mai 2025Pretty bad
- eckoryan28. april 2025A little over written and predictable, but I still enjoyed it.
- Scott14. desember 2024I wanted to like this. The idea of an artificial cryptid composed of the worst of humanity is such a fun idea. Or even just a haunted house of our own making. But both of those ideas give way to a most of the movie happening offscreen and what we’re given is not even particularly important to the movie.
- Gillman8212. april 2025It was fun. Great ending.
- Oʂɯαʅԃσ Rσყҽƚƚ9. mars 2025Crucially, Weitz grasps that the most unsettling thing about AIA’s real-world equivalents isn’t their alien novelty but the way they mirror human nature, revealing qualities in their designers and users that were present all along.
- John Chapel7. mars 2025Its alright. Its a fun watch, and I'm writing this 2 days after watching it. I honestly can't remember anything that happened in the movie. There are better AI-Gone-Bad movies out there. Ones without weird political messaging.
- Lisa Ryall17. februar 2025I was so excited about the premise and they really did the very least they could with it. Shockingly bad writing.
- ChaChaBTaco19. desember 2024Feels like an episode of tales from the crypt or twilight zone. Not very long and tells a story where wrong decisions were made, ultimately leading to calamity. It’s worth a watch though.
- Spoons3. november 2024Afraid follows a marketing professional who gets his hands on cutting-edge AI technology for a demonstration, aiming to prove his agency’s worth. The plot unfolds as he becomes increasingly entangled in the dark capabilities of the AI, blurring the line between control and chaos. While the concept of AI-driven anxiety is timely, the execution feels more like a standard thriller than a chilling horror film. Despite its intriguing premise, the movie falls into a pattern of predictability, with performances and direction reminiscent of made-for-TV thrillers. The AI-created video content adds a visually interesting layer, blurring reality and fabrication. However, the lack of genuine scares or tension keeps it from reaching its potential. Afraid is an average watch, best suited for a mindless evening. Fans of light thrillers or technology-themed narratives may find some appeal here. It might interest those who enjoyed films like The Circle or Anon but with tempered expectations.
