Like any good sci-fi, I thought it was really thought-provoking. But I wish I could've seen how Kubrick would've handled it.

Androids become a brand new trend Though they often meet quite gruesome ends This one lasts all summer And beyond! It's no wonder I still tear up each time at the end

Strangely for a Spielberg film it is really badly photographed, with some dreadful edits, and a preposterous scriipt which takes such leaps and bounds with our sense of belief that it is hard to follow. Are there prescient elements? Sure. Are they Kubricks or are they in the original short story? Almost definitely. The use of Ligeti in the soundtrack is a facile homage to Kubrick but without the sense of style or structure necessary to pull off such a bold musical choice. In the end it becomes pastiche. Not good Speilberg. I suspect he was too in awe of his mentor to let his talents fly. I don't blame him. Those are tough shoes to fill. As Rod Serling might say: file this one under failed experiments...somewhere in the twilight zone.

"A.I. Artificial Intelligence" - was a very ambitious project to say the least. And there was a lot of development hell of getting "Stanley Kubrick's" vision of A.I. onto the big screen. Even though Kubrick handed the directing duties over to Spielberg in "1995" the fact he never got to see the film, that he spent years of planning on is such a big gut punch tbh. As much as I love what "Steven Spielberg" ended up doing with this film a part of me always wonders what the "Stanley Kubrick" version would have been and looked like, had he decided to finish what he started and direct the film. Alongside still being alive at the time it was eventually made as well of course. Overall the awesome "Steven Spielberg" did a wonderful job in the end considering he ended up taking the reigns over someone else's planned project. And I 💯 believe that "Stanley Kubrick" himself would have been satisfied with what "Steven Spielberg" ended up giving us, he did really well under the circumstances. This is just one stunning looking film. I love the colour schemes here. Accompanied with the mesmerising visuals which are totally & utterly jaw dropping to look at. I find this film very underrated in all honesty. A.I. Artificial Intelligence was way ahead of its time. This has to be one the best ever performances from a child actor in movie history; I can't even begin to imagine how tough that part must have been to play for "Haley Joel Osment" to act like a robot is very tough and especially for a child. He was amazing & consistent all the way through as David. And should have without a doubt, recieved an Academy Award nomination for his role as "David" I think his performance is that good. And finally, I really love how at the center of everything, that this is just a different take on "Pinocchio" which makes A.I. even more powerful purely on a thematic level if anything. It just adds deeper meaning, that's one of the things I really admire about this movie. "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" is a film, that I can't recommend enough to everybody out there that hasn't seen it please 🙏 watch it.

Ahead of it's time visually and built on a great story about the meaning of love. Osment is incredible. Heartbreakingly beautiful.

It's great science fiction but a very sad story at times!

It was… interesting. A bit too sad and parts made me angry.

As someone who watches a lot of movies/series. I had the opportunity to watch it after 25 years. People thought of this 25 years ago. They have made a masterpiece that can be watched for 2.5 hours without getting bored.

    Richly entertaining.

It started good, but then it will slowly make you dizzy, like Pinocchio in the circus.

Slowly revealed as a modern day fairy-tale, there's a lot of clunk to it but overall there's enough to provide some entertaining and everlasting ponderances. It is odd how it seems to switch to a Kubrick film for the last third but it's a welcome and necessary discipline to conclude so effectively. If not much of an investment, I recommend it.
