Part 2As the fire gains strength, Thomas bursts into Sarah's lodgings to lead his family to safety. The King follows Samuel Pepys' advice to survey the damage for himself.

Part 3The King is angry to learn that his orders to create fire-breaks have been ignored. Thomas finally finds Sarah on the streets and together they find shelter from the inferno.
