Primeval Ratings & Reviews
- Noah Austin Brooks20 november 2025Strange, unexplained "anomalies" have ripped multiple holes in the fabric of time and space, allowing dangerous (and dangerously hungry) creatures from the distant past to lumber onto the streets of modern Britain. A crack team of specialists were appointed by the government to investigate and control these "creature incursions," creating the Anomaly Research Center (ARC), which is now jointly owned by the government and by entrepreneurial scientist Philip Burton. The ruthless, manipulative Burton heads ARC's control center, often butting heads with government official James Lester, while zoologist Matt Anderson leads a capable crew in the field. They are under siege, however -- anomalies are becoming more numerous, unpredictable and dangerous than ever before, and the end of the world seems to be just around the corner.

Personally I rewatch this all the time and have lent it to several friends who either needed a rewatch or hadn't previously seen the series. Primeval is a show that is incredible and frankly should be highly recommended. It is a classic British show really with the perfect balance of comedy and drama (something the Canadian spin off failed to capture), where else could you watch a professor, a conspiracy nut, a zoo keeper and a 'spin-doctor' chase dinosaurs who come through portals into history? There is a slight wobble in the shows quality after series three when the show was revived and moved to another channel, but honestly it never affected my enjoyment and honestly I still love the last two series - I just view it as slightly seperate. A must watch show and a must own boxset. (Also the box is super pretty and was used as a decoration in a room at one point...)
